Abstract
The results of an experimental investigation of the influence of mass addition and afterburning of combustion products of pyrotechnic mixtur es in the base region of axisymmetric bodies in supersonic air flow at Mach numbers of 1.2-3.0 are reported. It is shown that the base-press ure increment increases monotonically to a maximum value with an optim um injected-mass flow rate. The value of the's increment reduces as th e Mach number decreases. A dependence generalising the experimental da ta is presented.
