Av. Gerasimov, NUMERICAL-SIMULATION OF FRACTURE OF PLATES BY CONFINED EXPLOSIVE CHARGES, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 32(3), 1996, pp. 347-352
A numerical simulation of the interaction between an HE charge confine
d within a shell and an elastoplastic plate was performed. The cases o
f a fixed charge and a charge with a convex bottom moving at a given v
elocity were considered. The main features of plate deformation, and f
racture and the difference of the obtained results from those for an u
nconfined charge resting on a plate were revealed. It was shown that f
or the moving charge an optimum (from the point of view of spallation
in the plate) size of the contact spot exists at the moment of detonat
ion-wave arrival at the interface between the plate and the charge.
