Abstract
A study was conducted to determine the impact of liver fluke infection upon maternal yield by comparing birth weights, weaning weights, and weight gain of calves, from first-calf heifers naturally infected with liver flukes and treated with Ivomec(R) (Merck & Co., Rahway, N.J.) o r Ivomec-F(R) (Merck & Company). Ninety-three heifers were used in the study at a site in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. These results sh owed the effects of treating the heifers and the subsequent performanc e of their offspring.
