Abstract
An experimental system for measurement of luminescence lifetimes of la nthanide ions has been developed. It consists of a nitrogen laser pump ed dye laser as an excitation source and two different kinds of regist ration devices based on boxcar integrator and transient recorder. Accu racies of both registration methods have been compared using the stati stics of the measured data. The operation of the system in milli- and microsecond ranges has been verified using Eu(III) ions in H2O and D2O solutions.
