Abstract
A review of the problems involved in designing optimal holographic opt ical elements for Fourier transform realization is presented. Just lik e conventional lenses, the Fourier transform holographic optical eleme nt should convert a finite set of input plane wave fronts into a finit e set of output spherical wave fronts.
