The relativistic microscopic optical potential, the Schrodinger equiva
lent potential, and mean free paths of a nucleon at finite temperature
in nuclear matter and finite nuclei are studied based on Walecka's mo
del and thermo-field dynamics. We let only the Hartree-Fock self-energ
y of a nucleon represent the real part of the microscopic optical pote
ntial and the fourth order of meson exchange diagrams, i.e. the polari
zation diagrams represent the imaginary part of the microscopic optica
l potential in nuclear matter. The microscopic optical potential of fi
nite nuclei is obtained by means of the local density approximation.
