Abstract
This paper is concerned with the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville proble ms with periodic and semi-periodic boundary conditions to be approxima ted by a shooting algorithm. The proposed technique is based on the ap plication of the Floquet theory. Convergence analysis and a general gu ideline to provide starting values for computed eigenvalues are presen ted. Some numerical results are also reported. (C) 1994 Academic Press , Inc.
