Abstract
The nucleon-nucleon interaction is studied in terms of a color confine ment potential where the color screening effect is involved. It is sho wn that by using this confinement potential but not the linear or quad ratic potential, the color Van der Waals force no longer has irrationa l long tail, while it provides a part of the medium-range attraction o f the nucleon-nucleon force.
