E. Rosenberg et R. Kellner, FLOW-INJECTION ANALYSIS WITH FOURIER-TRANSFORM INFRARED DETECTION FORCLINICAL AND PROCESS ANALYSIS, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 348(8-9), 1994, pp. 530-532
As the analysis of glucose and urea is of special interest in the fiel
d of clinical and process analysis, an enzymatic FIA-FTIR system is pr
esented, based on the reactions of glucose to gluconic acid using gluc
ose oxidase as well as of urea to ammonium carbonate catalyzed by urea
se. The method is tested with standard solutions, with samples simulat
ing the blood composition and with a variety of fruit juices and soft
drinks. Whereas the systematic error is within few percent, as conclud
ed from the slope of the calibration graph, the reproducibility of the
method is up to now not satisfactory for routine applications in proc
ess analysis and has to be improved.
