Abstract
LGS 3 presents the optical appearance of a dwarf spheroidal galaxy, bu t has a significant neutral hydrogen component. Photometry of its brig htest stars with COSMIC at the prime focus of the Hale telescope shows a 10(8)-yr-old population and a 10(10)-yr-old population. Either we a re seeing a recent burst of star formation in a dwarf spheroidal galax y, or, if intermediate-age populations are also present, we are witnes sing a recent transition from a dwarf irregular to a dwarf spheroidal galaxy.
