Abstract
Urinary 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG) levels in 53 depressed women were compared to current suicidal thoughts or activity. Comparis ons were also made between MHPG and past suicide attempts, number of p ast attempts, and seriousness of the worst attempt. There was a weak t rend for current but not past suicidality to be associated with decrea sed MHPG levels.
