Hp. Solanki et Bs. Chertow, DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT OF SOFT-TISSUE UPTAKE OF LIVER METASTASES ON BONE IMAGING, Clinical nuclear medicine, 19(4), 1994, pp. 346-347
A man with poorly differentiated small-cell carcinoma of the lung pres
ented with extensive metastases to the liver. A prechemotherapy bone s
can (performed with 740 MBq Tc-99m MDP) revealed soft tissue uptake in
two large liver metastases. The patient received four cycles of VP-16
and cisplatin, and the bone scan was repeated in 6 months. Uptake in
liver metastases on bone imaging has been reported previously; this ca
se documents precise correlation with two metastases on CT and dramati
c reversal with improvement after chemotherapy.
