Sa. Elsayed, CRITICAL CONDITIONS IN UNIFORM TEMPERATURE SYSTEMS WITH VARIABLE HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS IN THERMAL-EXPLOSION THEORY, Journal of loss prevention in the process industries, 7(3), 1994, pp. 223-231
It is common in thermal explosion theory that the temperature dependen
ce of thermophysical properties other than the reaction rate may be ne
glected. In practice, there are certain circumstances in which this is
not suitable. This paper examines how criteria for criticality for a
system with uniform temperature (Semenov case) are affected when the h
eat transfer coefficient, h, is not constant but depends on the temper
ature. The lower boundary at which criticality disappears (transition)
is determined.
