Abstract
It is well known that Vlasov plasmas with spherical momentum symmetry cannot exhibit longitudinal plasma instabilities, regardless of the mo notonic behavior of the distribution function. It is shown that this p roperty holds for quantum plasmas also, at least within the random pha se approximation.
