Nonlinear interaction between an external static resonant magnetic per
turbation (RMP) and the corresponding rotating saturated magnetic isla
nd in tokamak plasma has been numerically simulated. The influence of
flow shear driven by this nonlinear interaction is considered. It is f
ound that applied resonant magnetic perturbations can effectively redu
ce the width of spontaneous magnetic island so that the amplitude of M
imov signal is suppressed and the velocity profile is changed as well.
