M. Coster et Jl. Chermant, MEASUREMENTS ON FUNCTIONS - PARAMETRICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF GRAY TONE LEVELS IMAGES AND APPLICATION TO NONPLANAR SURFACES, Revue de métallurgie, 91(2), 1994, pp. 233-241
The purpose of image analysis is to quantify them using parameters. To
obtain this result, it is necessary to eliminate noise, to extract th
e objects using segmentation and finally to measure them. Unfortunatel
y, all images are not segmentable, expecially topographic images obtai
ned by confocal microscopy or scanning electronic microscopy. In this
article, a critical study is presented for methods making it possible
to obtain a quantification of information on images non segmented into
levels of grey.
