Abstract
A new clectron gun for experimental studies of superhigh-power microwa ves is described. Hollow electron beams in a coaxial diode with magnet ic insulation have been investigated. Beams with diameters of 340-360 mm at a voltage across the diode of 0.85-2 MV and a pulse duration of 0.6-1 musec have been generated. The electron-beam power in the drift tube reaches 100 GW.
