Abstract
Megakaryocytes respond to externally applied ATP and ADP, showing a pe riodic K+ current that reflects oscillation in cytoplasmic calcium con centration (Ca2+(i)). The agonist selectivity of the purinoceptor on the megakaryocyte is unique. In addition, the intracellular mechanism of Ca2+(i) oscillation was investigated, and a model is proposed.
