Rm. Grady et al., TRANSCATHETER COIL EMBOLIZATION OF A PULMONARY ARTERIOVENOUS MALFORMATION IN A NEONATE, British Heart Journal, 71(4), 1994, pp. 370-371
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM) are a rare cause of cyano
sis in neonates, A large PAVM in a neonate was successfully occluded b
y transcatheter embolisation. At six months follow up the PAVM was und
etectable and no new lesions were found. Transcatheter embolisation sh
ould be considered as the primary treatment for a PAVM, in a child of
any age.
