For a number of acrylates with various lengths of alkyl chain C-x (x =
1-18) reactivity ratios in copolymerization with aminostyrenes (m- an
d p-dimethylaminostyrenes and p-acetylaminostyrene) were deter mined.
The dependence of reactivity df acrylate monomers with respect to poly
mer radicals with aminostyrene end groups on x was found to show a max
imum. Correlation dependences of the reactivity ratios of acrylate mon
omers on x and sigma (the Hammett constant of substituent in aminostyr
ene) were plotted. The reactivities' of aminostyrenes were calculated
according to the Alfley-Price treatment, and the parameters of microst
ructure of the resulting copolymers were determined.
