A. Calisti et al., FAST NUMERICAL-METHODS FOR LINE-SHAPE STUDIES IN HOT AND DENSE-PLASMAS, Journal of quantitative spectroscopy & radiative transfer, 51(1-2), 1994, pp. 59-64
For hot and dense plasma studies both fundamental or diagnosis oriente
d, one needs to solve concurrently several problems coming from differ
ent fields. Our contribution to such studies has been to develop a fas
t computer code capable of providing spectral profiles for the radiati
on emitted by multiply charged ions imbedded in hot and dense non-equi
librium plasmas. The results of this numerical method have been carefu
lly compared to those generated by a simulation code based on a molecu
lar dynamic simulation of the stochastic microfield. This paper provid
es information about some new aspects of the line mixing model used to
account for the ion dynamic effect in a very fast way.
