We. White et al., ULTRASHORT-PULSE LASER FOR HIGH-DENSITY PLASMA-EXPERIMENTS, Journal of quantitative spectroscopy & radiative transfer, 51(1-2), 1994, pp. 407-410
The use of high intensity ultrashort laser pulses in the study of hot,
high density plasmas requires pulses of extreme temporal fidelity. We
have developed a system that provides continuously variable independe
nt tuning of the higher order frequency dependent phase of ultrashort
laser pulses. Numerical results are presented indicating that higher o
rder phase terms that lead to temporal wings can be compensated by a p
roperly adjusted air spaced doublet lens within the pulse stretcher.
