Abstract
The authors present a case of intrathoracic prolapse of the scapula af ter anterolateral thoracotomy. Although shoulder deformity and weaknes s have been reported after thoracotomy, intrathoracic scapular displac ement has not previously been described. Debilitation and steroid ther apy may have contributed to weakness of the chest wall. Computed tomog raphy of the thorax was essential in making the diagnosis.
