Abstract
The conversion of 2-octylamine occurs over both metal nitrides and oxi des. In general, the oxide and nitride catalysts produce more condensa tion of 2-octylamine to higher molecular weight products, mostly conta ining nitrogen, than elimination to produce octenes and ammonia. Alcoh ols and amines give significantly different octene isomer distribution s; however, the distribution from each reactant is similar for the nit ride and oxide catalysts.
