Abstract
For two-phase systems of water and normal long-chained alcohols, inter face crystallization is observed for alcohols with 10 to 15 carbon ato ms. The study of four normal undecanols from various factories, involv ing interface tension measurements and determinations of melting and s olidification points, together with controlled crystallization, sugges ts that the crystallization is induced by the presence of a monolayer of alcohol molecules adsorbed at the interface.
