Abstract
We present the first studies of far infrared cyclotron emission from m agnetically quantised 2DEGs made using a broad band detector. Spectral resolution was obtained using the substrate as a Fabry-Perot etalon t ogether with a low pass filter. Information was obtained on the intens ity in fields up to 3 T and currents up to 600 muA. The experiments de monstrate that the system is well adapted for investigating the electr on temperatures as a function of magnetic field. They also show that 2 0-30% of the emission occurs at frequencies significantly less than om ega(c).
