M. Frullone et al., PACKET RESERVATION MULTIPLE-ACCESS IN CELLULAR ENVIRONMENTS, European transactions on telecommunications and related technologies, 5(1), 1994, pp. 51-58
Some different packet protocols, based on a Reservation ALOHA protocol
, have been proposed in literature for use in mobile radio systems, ev
en though their performance have been fully evaluated only in interfer
ence free environments. The paper focuses on Packet Reservation Multip
le Access (PRMA) and extends the evaluation of its performance to a ce
llular environment. first by-characterising its performance when loade
d by a Poisson traffic distribution and then assessing the impact of i
nterference from other cells.
