Abstract
We test the validity of a static two-body quark-anti-quark potential o f the form V(r) = V0[1 - exp(- alphar2)] in the charmonium and upsilon spectroscopy within a non-relativistic framework. Qualitative feature s of the potential are discussed with the help of a few typical numeri cal results.
