Abstract
We report on possible effects of quantum-mechanical interferences betw een gravitational forces and the nucleus-nucleus Coulomb interaction. We show that, although very small, these effects could be measured on using low-energy scattering between identical heavy nuclei. For the sy stem Pb-208 + Pb-208 (E(L) = 5 MeV). The angular precision needed woul d be about 0.001 degrees.
