Abstract
A conclusion arrived at by Tao et al. [Phys. Rev. 44, 6665 (1991)] rel ated to the assignment of the nominal 60-cm-1 feature from liquid wate r is corrected. The 60-cm-1 band from liquid water due to the O-O-O be nding mode is nearly degenerate with the O-O-Cl bending mode from aque ous LiCl solutions.
