Separation of hemoglobins F, Fac, S, C and Ale was performed using hig
h performance liquid chromatography with a cation exchange Polycat A c
olumn in a 15-minute assay. HbF titration results were well correlated
with those of the reference alkali denaturation technique for values
below 12% (r = 0,95; P < 0.001). This technique may be used as a confi
rmation test for neonatal screening of sickle cell disease.
