Abstract
Five possible regimes of nonresonant nuclear fusion reactions in dense stellar matter are briefly reviewed. They are: classical thermonuclea r (weak screening) regime; thermonuclear strong screening burning regi me; pycnonuclear (zero-temperature) regime; thermally enhanced pycnonu clear burning; and the regime intermediate between the thermo- and pyc no-nuclear ones.
