Ap. Savchenko et al., LEFT-VENTRICULAR FUNCTION IN HYPERTENSIVE SUBJECTS WITH MYOCARDIAL HYPERTROPHY AS SHOWN BY MULTIPLE-PHASE VENTRICULOGRAPHY, Terapevticeskij arhiv, 65(9), 1993, pp. 25-28
The study included 39 hypertensive subjects with clinical echocardiogr
aphic evidence of left ventricular hypertrophy. All the patients were
subjected to coronary angiography and transvenous multiple-phase left
ventriculography. Early subclinical signs of left ventricular dysfunct
ion in hypertensive patients have been defined. They concern energetic
efficacy of the cardiocycle, left ventricular diastolic function, myo
cardial asynchronism. It is noted that the above dysfunction was recor
ded in cases where standard two-image analysis provides normal values.
