HADRONIC-GAS FRAGMENTATION IN HIGH-ENERGY HEAVY-ION COLLISIONS

Models which consider a single homogeneous chemically equilibrated had ron gas have proved successful in reproducing available experimental p article production ratios. We consider an extension to these models to allow for the formation of multiple fragmented regions of gas of diff ering strangeness but with overall strangeness zero. We find that with in the framework of our model, the formation of such regions is improb able.
