Abstract
Primary leaves of the oat cv. 'Park' react with a substantial synthesi s of the antifungal avenalumin 1, when challenged with Drechslera vict oriae. A high level of this phytoalexin is already reached 12 h p.i. T his model system offers the chance to study the influence of ecologica l parameters on the resistance potential in oat tissue, determined by quantitative HPLC analysis of the defined resistance factor avenalumin 1.
