Abstract
Well known as an important influence on other parts of a design, hardw are-software partitioning also significantly affects test cost. This a rticle provides a method of measuring partitioning's impact based on t he cost to test each unit-level component. An Aerospatiale case study illustrates the use of this method as a design criterion.
