Quantum wires with a cross section of 10.660 nm exhibit at 10K a nonth
ermal, quasi-monoenergetic exciton distribution up to 150 ps after exc
itation if they are excited resonantly and with low excitation density
of 10(2) cm-1. Exciton-exciton scattering in quantum wires increases
with increasing density and temperature as shown by time-resolved phot
oluminescence measurements.
