E. Rodriguez et al., QUANTUM EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENT IN SOLIDS BY PHOTOACOUSTIC AND LUMINESCENCE EXPERIMENTS, Journal of luminescence, 58(1-6), 1994, pp. 353-355
In the work, a method for the determination of fluorescent quantum eff
iciencies in solids is analyzed. The method is based on the simultaneo
us measurement of photoacoustic and luminescent signals, after pulsed
laser excitation at different wavelengths. The accuracy of the method
to study vibronic bands of transition metal ions in solids is discusse
d and the application to the case of Cr3+ ions in LiNbO3 and Eu2+ ions
in alkali halides is presented. It is found that the method is partic
ularly suitable for systems showing a high (approximately 100%) quantu
m efficiency.
