L. Madrid et E. Diazbarrientos, NATURE OF THE ACTION OF OLIVE MILL WASTE-WATER ON THE MOBILITY OF HEAVY-METALS ADDED TO A SOIL, Fresenius environmental bulletin, 3(4), 1994, pp. 226-231
Addition of OMW to a soil causes a significant decrease in adsorption
and a higher desorbability of Cu and Zn, while Cd is adsorbed to a gre
ater extent and is less easily desorbed. These effects are due to chan
ges in pH and do not seem to be related with intrinsic changes in the
equilibria involved. Therefore in well buffered soils OMW is not likel
y to cause harmful increases in mobility of these metals.
