Abstract
High-gain microwave free electron laser amplifier experiments have bee n performed at CAEP using the SG-1 device. For a small signal output p ower of 50 kW in the super-radiation mode (i.e. starting from noise) a nd nearly 19 dB/m exponential gain, 8 MW amplified microwave power hav e been measured with an input power of 300 W. The experimental results of the SG-1 device are compared with simulations provided by IAPCM's 3D code WAGFEL.
