Abstract
A core type electromagnetic helical microwiggler, which has three pole
s in a period of 6.6 mm and a field strength of 5 kG (K = 0.3) was dev
eloped, with the intention of generating radiation with a wavelength o
f few tens mum using an electron beam with an energy of 6 MeV. This st
ructure has the advantage of a small total leakage field between neigh
boring poles in the core. As a first stage, we manufactured a threefol
d-enlarged trial wiggler with the same structure as the original desig
n. The field measurements are used to adjust the final design of the m
icrowiggler.
