Abstract
Reacting lithium with 3,14-Tetrabenzo-3,7,11,15-tetradehydro16annule ne (tetrabenzocyclyne, QBC) in THF gives the meso and d,l-pair of 9,1 8-bis(trimethylsilyl) diindeno2,3-g:2',3'-pchrysene. The X-ray cryst al structures of these compounds show them to be ribbon oligomers with two helical interactions correlated with two chiral centers.
