Abstract
The results of combined hydrological and acoustic study of internal st ructure of the Polar Frontal Zone in the Barents Sea are presented. Th e contact techniques (CTD-survey, trace measurements) and remote sensi ng (satellite IR-images processing, acoustic doppler current profiling , volume sound backscattering analysis) were used. The structure of fr onts and frontal meanders and eddies was studied. A significant correl ation between hydrological and acoustic characteristics was revealed.
