Abstract
Sports offer many opportunities to improve the preparation and perform ance of interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Some consultants to bu siness and industry rely extensively on sports models for analogies an d metaphors to help build winning teams. Sports models provide a conve nient framework for transferring teamwork concepts to rehabilitation a bout philosophy, team goals, role clarification, preparation, performa nce, and evaluation. Within the context of sports, unique and innovati ve training curricula can be developed to provide the words, images, a nd concepts for rehabilitation specialists to function better as team members. Sports provide powerful management tools that deserve conside ration by all rehabilitation administrators and service providers.
