In 60% of all patients with extragonadal germ cell tumors, testicular
biopsy reveals a testicular intraepithelial neoplasia MN). We report a
case of a patient with the primary diagnosis of extragonadal seminoma
in whom an initial testicular biopsy was unremarkable. 14 weeks later
a solid tumor in the left testicle was detected and proved to be a ''
burnt-out'' seminoma. Follow-up of patients with extragonadal germ cel
l tumors should include careful examination of the testicles even if i
nitial biopsies were negative.
