Abstract
An adaptive control algorithm for tracking unstable periodic orbits is presented. Automatic tracking is made possible by incorporating a sta bility-analysis subroutine into a map-based control scheme. The method is used to trick unstable orbits in the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction .
