Abstract
Let A and B be fields of subsets of a set X and let mu: A --> R and nu : B --> R be consistent, bounded, finitely additive measures (i.e., ch arges). We give necessary and sufficient conditions for mu and nu to h ave a bounded common extension to A OR B. Conditions on A and B are gi ven under which any bounded consistent charges mu and nu have a bounde d common extension.
