Jw. Gentry et al., A VECTOR MODEL FOR THE TOTAL AEROSOL DEPOSITION EFFICIENCY UNDER THE SIMULTANEOUS ACTION OF MORE THAN ONE MECHANISM, Journal of aerosol science, 25(2), 1994, pp. 315-325
Two ''vector'' models have been developed for computing the combined e
fficiency when two mechanisms diffusion and sedimentation are operatin
g simultaneously. Models currently used in lung deposition modeling ca
n be derived from the asymptotic forms of the models. It is shown that
the models bracket the experimental data and provide an explanation f
or total efficiencies less than the larger of the components.
