J. Szepietowski et J. Toonstra, RECURRENT UNILESIONAL LEUKOCYTOCLASTIC VASCULITIS OVER A 24-YEAR-PERIOD, EJD. European journal of dermatology, 4(3), 1994, pp. 223-225
Leukocytoclastic vasculitis usually presents with multiple skin lesion
s. A 49-year-old man with a history of recurrent episodes of a single
lesion localized on the distal part of the lower legs or proximal dors
al part of the feet is presented. Physical examination during a recurr
ence revealed a superficial erythematous bulla on the frontal part of
the left lower leg. Some atrophic scars on the lower part of both the
legs were also present. The lesion healed spontaneously within four to
six weeks, leaving an atrophic round scar. Histopathology and immunof
luorescence showed typical features of leukocytoclastic vasculitis. Th
e recurrent unilesional skin manifestation makes this case a really un
ique one.
