Abstract
After a two-year delay, the congressionally mandated Risk Assessment a nd Management Commission is scheduled to meet for the first time this month. The commission is charged with evaluating standards and methods of assessing environmental hazards and recommending how that informat ion should be used in regulating toxic substances; its deliberations m ay have far-reaching effects on research and government policy in this area.
